JACKSONVILLE (May -- 2007) -- A local insurance company will open an office in Tinseltown under its new name. Miller Insurance Group Inc. has changed its name to Brightway Insurance and plans to eventually have 150 offices around the state.
Brightway has 17 offices and plans to open one per month through the end of the year. Each opening is expected to create 15 to 20 new jobs.
In 2003, CEO David Miller bought the Jennings Insurance Agency, then one of the oldest Nationwide Insurance agencies in Florida, and renamed it Miller Insurance Group. The company began operating under the Brightway name May 21.
"Our new name more accurately reflects our business focus and position within the insurance industry to provide our customers with smart, affordable and reliable insurance options," Miller said. "This is more than just a name change. It's the way we do business."
The company has more than 60 employees representing more than 18,000 customers with $25 million in premiums.
Though the company has a new logo to go with the Brightway name, it will still legally be known as Miller Insurance Group Inc.
